SMCAMA: Saint Mary's American Marketing Collegiate Chapter
The Saint Mary’s College American Marketing Association Collegiate Chapter (SMCAMA) provides students of all majors with the opportunity to learn and apply principles of business and marketing, stay current with the trends in the marketing field, as well as network with professionals.
2010-2011 President
The President provides leadership and overall direction to the chapter as well as works closely with the faculty advisor to perform all duties and bylaws of AMA
Specific Responsibilities
• Works with the vice president of finance in presenting the annual budget to the board of directors for approval
• Serves as a liaison to the chapter and faculty advisor
• Determines whether the objectives and strategies contribute to the long-range interest of the chapter and analyzes the extent to which the needs of all members are served
• Calls and conducts all general chapter meetings
• Determines the chapter’s meeting schedule for the year in conjunction with the board of directors
• Prepares and submits a chapter plan and the annual report with input from the board for final delivery to AMA International Headquarters

2009-2010 Vice President of Communications
Maintains the historical records of the chapter, as well as corresponds with members, AMA International Headquarters and the community. Set up/participate in community service activities.
Specific Responsibilities
• Distributes all meeting announcements to board members, officers, faculty, and current and prospective members
• Prepares and maintains the minutes of all chapter meetings and board meetings
• Sends chapter mailings to AMA International Headquarters
• Prepares a final report of the years activities, including budget estimates and recommendations for the next year
• Decides upon events for the chapter to participate in for the community service component
